Caption
  • Bingo Long (Billy Dee Williams) leads the pre-game parade. Set against the background of the depression-ridden Midwest in 1939, Universal's "The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings," a Motown Pictures Production in association with Pan Arts Enterprises, is both a historic depiction of baseball's Negro National League and a free-wheeling comedic sojourn through mid-America by a lively group of barnstorming black ball players. Directed by John Badham, the film stars Billy Dee Williams, James Earl Jones and Richard Pryor and co-stars Sam Laws and Ted Ross. Rob Cohen produced the screenplay by Hal Barwood and Matthew Robbins. Berry Gordy is the executive producer.
