Caption
  • Fleming's description typed and written on the reverse side of the image reads, in full: "Looking out our doorway at the family gathering up their belongings. A fine set of silverware, some suit material, ski boots, and overcoats they will never find I know. Their goods got what was probably its third going over at our hands, and one fellow stocked up with marketable items for his Paris trip. Huge silver platters, beautiful table spreads, and other finery were left, though. Only Nazi Party members could have owned such riches, and they were probably loot from some German-conquered country. Obereip, Ger -- 27 March 45."
