- One of the prized possessions of singer Harry Belafonte is a copy of the above picture of himself and Chicago's Samuel Cardinal Stritch. Only difference between the above photo and the one Harry has carefully placed in his scrapbook is that the Cardinal autographed Belafonte's print, wishing him the best of good luck. Recently, the Cardinal upset a precedent by granting Belafonte an audience, labelled him "one of America's most important artists and certainly the most important Negro artist.
