- Flemming's caption typed on reverse side of image reads, in full: "These ruins of the old Castle Rothenburg were restored into a Nazi Shrine of some kind by the SS. There is a small, circular, ceremonial room in the tower base. The bare and virile figure of a man dominates the room's interior, and ceremonial flags flank it. Other rooms were piled high with Nazi literature. Pic shows Lt. Rosie with a couple of books under his arm. I took one small book, "German Children, German Names", which is self explanatory. The chief aim of it seemed to be to avoid Jewish names. Near Nordhausen, Ger -- 17 May 45"
