- Written in ink on the reverse side of the image, in full: "Swanny - Please send this print to Sgt. Malcolm L. Fleming - He should be interested - Bye! Jack" On Dec. 10, 2014 Mac Fleming pointed out that the actual caption for this image was accidentally typed on to the reverse side of image H-13 (VAD2888-000119). That caption reads, in full: "Kitzero, now in the States and discharged, sent this pic that he took using his camera. Being better than the one he took with my camera, I use it instead. The Girl and the sign were the favorite props of all GI photo fans there. She's been in the REd Army since Stallingrad, where all her folks were killed or captured. She is a sniper and is said to have liquidated 120 Germans. This was a personal fight to her and to most Red soldiers. Torgau, Ger -- 30 April 45."
