- Description
- Referred to as the "Nun's book," this liturgical and devotional manuscript (an Horae Diurnae) is affiliated with the Dominican order and was produced in the fourteenth century, likely in Germany. It is thought to have been used by a Dominican nun in a convent in southern Germany, possibly from the Upper Rhine area. Eight leather tabs, dyed red, added to assist in navigation. Fifteenth and sixteenth century additions are found in the back of the manuscript. The early sixteenth century binding includes two in situ binding fragments.
