Description
  • Leaf from the sanctoral of a Spanish antiphonal from the late sixteenth century or first half of the seventeenth century. Contains the hymn, "Quodcunque in orbe," for use during Vespers on the feast of Cathedra Petri (Peter's Chair) on January 18th. Heraldic crest of the Mercedarian order inscribed in the opening initial.

Number of lines: 6. Decoration: Recto opens with a red, green, and yellow initial with the heraldic crest of the Mercedarian order on a blue background. Cadelle initial heightened with a yellow wash on the verso. Preceding barline heightened in yellow and green. Rubric precedes hymn on recto. Musical notation: Mensural notation on five red staff lines. With mensuration clef, barlines, and custos.
