  • A leaf from a mid-thirteenth century Bible copied in Northern France. This leaf contains text from the book of Joshua, chapters 12:8-15:8, as well as some scribal corrections and indications for the rubricator in the margin. Another leaf from the same Bible is held at the University of Vermont.

Line height (in mm): 2.6. Script: Gothic. Script type: Textualis. Layout: Two columns, ruled in lead for fifty-seven lines. Prickings visible in the upper, lower, and outer margins. Single vertical bounding lines around the columns of the main written area. A smaller column is ruled off with two vertical lines in the outer margin. Double horizontal bounding lines at the top and bottom of the written area. Number of columns: 2. Number of lines: 57. Decoration: Large initials alternating red and blue extending up and down the margins, with penwork in the opposite color. Chapter numbers in red and blue Roman numerals. Running heads in red and blue.
