Tate Archives & Special Collections at Illinois Wesleyan University’s Ames Library holds 15 manuscripts dating from the 13th to the 16th centuries. These manuscripts represent several geographical areas, including England, France, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain. Four of the manuscripts were used as support structures for later printed books. The 15 manuscripts form part of the Book Arts Collection, a teaching collection that contains examples of the art of bookbinding, illustrating, and printing history.
