Abstract
  • Indiana University South Bend dental student students pose for a photographer in the Riverside Hall dental clinic. Programs in Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting were introduced at the university in 1969, under the supervision of the Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. Students earned a one-year certificate in the Dental Hygiene program and a two-year associate degree in the Dental Assisting program. Both programs were successful upon introduction and often reached enrollment limits. (Adapted from Furlong and Vander Ven, "A Campus Becoming")
