Abstract
  • William Gering was a professor of speech and theater at Indiana University South Bend from 1965 to 1988. He was the first full-time speech professor at the school, where he introduced the long-standing tradition of speech night competitions. With his wife, Lucille Gering, he established the William M. and Lucille E. Gering Scholarship for students in communication studies.
