  • Fleming's caption typed on reverse side of image reads, in full: "Seven Red Cross huts offered reading, writing, and doughnut dunking opportunities no end. This one was the officers and of interest to GI's only for the little quip under the sign "Officers yet," which means to every guy that the brass have had their day, and will soon be demoted to the rank of civilian where a fella can face them on even ground, man to man. No more authority and privilege where it's not deserved. Camp Tophat, Bel -- 15-19 Oct 45."
