- Fleming's description typed on reverse side of image reads, in full: "The best trained of the elephants does a one-legged stand. He later bows and carries out the stool. The mottled appearance of the canvas top is the result of its camouflage paint. The German army took two of the circus's big tops to cut up for truck covers. William's best horses were taken from him too. Gotha, Ger -- 24 June 45."
