- Fleming's description typed and written on the reverse side of the image reads, in full: "Entrance to a church built on the Rhine bands, now bricked up as a protection against bombs. As is so very typical here, there is a graveyard in the church yard. Most numerous and conspicuous were the monuments to soldiers of this and the last World War. Unkel, Ger -- 20 March 45."
