Xavier University Library’s University Archives and Special Collections is the known holder of the following pre-1600 medieval manuscript items: five codices, one detached manuscript leaf, and nineteen substantive in situ binding fragments found across twelve early printed books dating from 1479 to 1640, with less accessible binding fragments found in an additional thirty-two printed books. Among the five codices are a French Bible from the first half of the thirteenth century, a French Bible from the second half of the thirteenth century, a fourteenth-century French (?) compilation of the works of John Chrysostom, a fifteenth-century French bullarium, and a sixteenth-century Spanish antiphonal. Items are identified in Xavier University Library’s online catalog and available for in-person research by appointment.
